EDUCATING VOTERS

 

With the approval of the Election Commission, a Four Year Participatory Strategic Plan for 2017-2020 including all anticipated projects, programmes and activities was prepared. The strategic plan was prepared after collecting suggestions and proposals from all stakeholders including the staff of the Commission, public officers, representatives of political parties, civil organizations, observer groups, mediamen, women, youth, organizations of the disabled and citizens organizations, trade union activists etc.

Stakeholders at the national, district and rural levels including citizens, politicians, members of election observer groups, members of community based organizations, police officers, public officers etc. will be educated on democracy, universal franchise and electoral processes. As a part of this programme school children, the future generation, will be educated on democracy and universal franchise through the Students’ Parliament.
